John M. Rosen

Paul Alexander joined Rosen and Company in 2007 after articling as a law clerk to the Judges of the Superior Court of Justice in Toronto. He practices in the areas of criminal, regulatory and discipline law.

Paul brings to his practice a strong background in criminal and constitutional advocacy. While a law student, Paul crafted arguments for the successful challenge to the Security Certificate regime in the Supreme Court of Canada. He represented low-income clients in criminal matters as a case worker at Downtown Legal Services, and worked on projects relating to human rights in Africa, Asia and North America. Paul spent a summer working for legal reform at the Canadian Civil Liberties Association. He is the recipient of numerous awards for his advocacy skills as a student, and has participated in cases before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Supreme Court of Canada.

Currently Paul is engaged in the defence of several of the firm's more complex cases, and works closely with the senior members of the firm in those matters.

Paul holds an undergraduate degree in Commerce and Finance from the University of Toronto. He received his J.D. from the University of Toronto in 2006 and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2007. He is a member of the Ontario Branch of the Canadian Bar Association.
